birds eat everything

birds eat everything,
I planted spinach in the fall just to see how it grows here in the winter,
and it is finally growing bigger,

(I know I need to weed that plot)

but the spinach works here quite well here if you can get the birds not to eat it small,
they ate all but one that I planted (at that point I covered the last one with chicken wire)

the buckwheat I planted last fall has gone wild,

there is way to much of it growing for the birds to eat all of it,
but last fall they almost ate all of it when it was small.
