crop rotation

crop rotation might seem complex,
but it really is not,
the idea is that you don't plant something from the same family in the same plot more than once a year,
the order you plant it in matters less than changing what you plant

the example is the 3 sisters garden for more info read bird buffalo woman ( http://digital.library.upenn.edu/women/buffalo/garden/garden.html )
they planted corn and beans together
the beans fix the nitrogen in the soil, and the corn uses it
my corn crop failed due to low nitrogen in the soil this year...
but growing the beans and corn at the same time is not the best way to do it,
you should grow beans one year, then corn, then potatoes (or something like that)
and that works way better...

it is not only for what is in the soil, but also for the pests that build up looking for the same crop.

and that cat will still not look at the camera
